Hi, I'm English from Bristol. I've been back over in Britain and other countries (Asia, Oz, etc) and have recently come 'home' to Tokyo where I've lived since I was 24. My last 'proper' job in Japan was as a translator/interpreter (for about 15 years) and before that I was a journalist, an actor, club manager and when I first arrived in Japan, an English teacher and student. After that I owned a shop in Shimokita for a while and I still wholesale Asian accessories to other shops. I have a private income from the UK, and I travel back there often. I have been writing a novel these past few years (half finished) and I hope to have some short stories published soon. I also like to keep myself busy through sports and travelling. I live near 下北沢 in Setagaya-ku. I basically hope to meet Japanese women but I'm open minded about that. I enjoy long serious relationships but have been travelling and single for nearly 3 years now. I love hiking/mountaineering in the Himalayas; snowboarding (usually in Hakuba); I read a lot; I play squash 4 times a week and enjoy rock climbing when I have the energy. So you may have guessed that I like to keep fit. I think it is so important to stay slim and healthy. Also, I thought about lying about my age...but I decided that would be pathetic. I feel and look 42. I've travelled all over Asia and Europe, and will never stop travelling until I break my neck on a mountain or something! (joke, I hope) You won't regret meeting me; even if we never meet again after, you won't forget me! Please feel free to communicate in Japanese. I read and write it too. Sincerely Patrick

Hello! こんにちは!Bonjour! Buenos dias! Bon dia! I love languages, particularly learning them and studying their grammars. I have been teaching English, grammar, and writing in Japan for five years and I hope to one day own my own school. I am thus extremely interested in education as well as linguistics, philosophy (particularly epistemology), literature and grammar. So, I guess I'm kind of a nerd :D In addition to my work, I enjoy discovering new things that enrich my life. I am just as comfortable exploring nature as I am strolling through a metropolis. I love hiking and camping as much as I enjoy fine dining or taking in a play. I love dance (and dancing!) music (and singing!), art (and painting, and drawing, and sculpting!). Being able to enjoy art is one of the most important things a person can do aside from work, so I try to enjoy as much of it as I can. In my downtime, I listen to a lot of music. I'm particularly fond of Mozart's flute quartets and piano concertos, but I'm also a fan of Vivaldi's flute works, Tchaikovsky's 2nd violin concerto, and Chopin's Grande Polonaise. I enjoy reading fiction, mostly works from the Romantic period, as well as philosophical or historical non-fiction. I also enjoy movies, cooking, basketball, and cycling. I am a creative and opinionated man, an aspiring writer and polyglot from America's northeast. I have a wide-range of interests and I would like to share them with someone who appreciates the same things. I look forward to meeting such a person.
