Work plays a big part in my life — I'm a director of a small software business and a Chartered Engineer, specialising in Microsoft Azure cloud technologies. I genuinely enjoy what I do and I’m always learning something new. When I’m not working, I try to stay active: I use my LifeFitness treadmill most days, and I’m a fan of Les Mills Online classes like Body Pump. Learning is one of my passions. I’ve done more online courses on edX, Coursera, and Udemy than I can count, and I use Anki flashcards to keep my memory sharp. I also love studying languages — my Portuguese is at an intermediate level, and I continue learning basic Japanese. I even enjoy hand-writing Japanese characters the old-fashioned way. I’d say I’m more introverted than extroverted, but people often describe me as friendly and deeply engaged in what I care about. I’ve had many language lessons on italki, and I always enjoy connecting with people who share a love of learning. I have one cat (an early riser!) and a garden that I’ve turned into a peaceful, low-maintenance space with the help of a great landscape gardener.
