I like a quiet life, I appreciate nature, I am content with what I have, and I don’t yearn for more and more. I am neither greedy nor jealous of people who have more than I do, unless I am aware that they have made gains by deceit, and then it is not jealousy, its contempt. I do not keep any pets, and I don't want any. I hate smoking; I can’t bear near the smell of cigarette smoking, and I don’t drink. I have been creating oil paintings since 1976, and I will be painting for as long as it is physically possible for me. Because I am a painter I often pause for a moment just to study a scene or gaze at cloud formations. I am always interested in inventions, history, geography, visiting museums and art galleries. I like to travel distant if I have enough money and time (I went to China all alone with a pack on my back in 1984). I enjoy a simple drive out into the country or the seaside for the day. I like to watch informative TV documentaries or clean moral movies at home, where I find that some powerful images of distress, love or violence can stir my emotions and even bring tears to my eyes. I often sit for a while and listen to music, usually on quality headphones, so as not to disturb others around me. I like classical music, I like good old rock and roll, I like some ballads and country music, I also like the old ‘Traditional Jazz’. I don’t have music playing in the background unnecessarily. When I am painting I sometimes have music playing, and usually only classical on a low volume. I believe listening to music is a pleasure and quite often a personal thing. I can make conversation easily with almost anyone, especially people of other races and cultures, but I am quite selective when it comes to making friends. I find intelligent conversation stimulating with man or lady. But I do also enjoy comedy in its different forms, and sometimes I like to clown about with words in the English language and make deliberate mistakes with the grammar when I speak with close friends, it can sometimes make for very humorous laughter, it is a sort of intelligent comedy. But it’s best that you don't go any further with me if you want a high speed life of parties, evenings out all the time wine and dine with never ending gaiety, fun and expense. That sort of life often turns out to be a traffic jam of social misbehaviour; I am not mature without reason!
