Some basics for a good time with Doc. "The Checklist" Communication: You need to be willing to chat with me. I am perfectly ok if your English is bad, I will find a way to communicate with you, even if I have to learn your language sufficiently to accomplish it - part of what I do as an amateur linguist. That's part of the fun. So, no excuses for not chatting. Please don't stay quiet forever. Reach out. I am a busy man but I will get back. Promise. If you really want my attention, let's schedule a time for a video chat. I will make the time, but if you don't video chat for awhile, I will never know who you are. And after video chatting, doing text chat is fine, but we have the technology and I am going to want to see you and connect! Show yourselves! It's OK. I am a super nice guy (well, most of the time anyways) Joyful: Do you embrace the joy of life? Resilient: When you become angry or worried, do you have the strength to turn around and tell yourself "It will be ok" and choose joy and courage instead? Gratitude: Are you grateful for waking up in the morning, the sun shining despite clouds? Loyalty: When someone loves on you, do you love them back? Can you be loyal to someone who will be your champion, and will you be their hero? Genuine: Are you genuinely a kind and gentle soul that can tell a partner, "I didn't like that, we need to talk" and then can figure out how to make each other happy? Or do you pretend to smile even though deep inside, your heart is breaking and you don't share your feelings or trust another person enough to share what you feel or express what you want. Or worse, do you become angry and abusive, blaming others for your own issues. You must be able to be genuine or there will never be trust. Are you kind to yourself and others? Purpose: I don't care if you are a diplomat, ambassador, barista, waitress, wealthy or not. Do you invest yourself in your work and spread light to others around you? Do you dedicate yourself to being the best even when nobody is looking? Curiosity: When you think of something, or look at what most would find ordinary, do you find the extraordinary in it? Do you wish to explore the world and that and those around you? Together: Whatever we do, we do it together as much as possible. Or, do you wish to be alone? (why are you here on this site, then???) I am a pretty good cook, and I would enjoy having a partner to assist or to lead in preparing a meal. Do you enjoy the finer things in life? I also like to take classes/learn language with a partner as well (and yes, Netflix/Hulu). When the monster of life, and the nasty evil dragons have us cornered - will you run and leave me alone in my battle or do we fight together and emerge victorious? Responsible: I like money but I don't love it. I work and earn my money, but it is not my master. So, are you someone who has learned or is learning to be responsible with being organized, paying your bills, holding a job/career/business and do you have your life in order?
