Hi there. I’m an optimist, a realist, an Englishman, and something of a romantic :) 日本語もできるので、日本語のメッセージを送ってもOKです。 I first came to Japan on a business trip, immediately took a liking to the place and so I never left (笑). I think London is still my favourite city with Tokyo a close second. And third? Probably Mexico City. I work in finance and like it a lot. There's always something interesting going on and new developments to look at. It's rarely dull. After graduating from university I started working in an investment bank as a trader and continued that until I joined an investment fund a couple of years ago. Occasionally I teach the finance course of an MBA at one of Tokyo's universities. It's quite a challenge because I teach in Japanese and so have to think carefully before embarking on explanations of various financial ideas. Exhausting but rewarding. Outside of work, I have a strong interest in the arts which grew out of the study of English literature at school. I love theatre, films, galleries and architecture; I'll definitely be going to the Andy Warhol Retrospective at the Mori Gallery...soon!! I'm a minor defender of modernist architecture, such as the South Bank Centre in London, but only so long as it isn't the dominant theme of a city. Art Deco buildings are always cool. If you are wondering what I'm talking about then check-out the Hoover Building in London or the Teien Art Museum in Tokyo. Unfortunately, Tokyo has demolished most of its art deco stuff but there are some excellent examples preserved at a place called Meiji Mura in Inuyama. Have a look online...you'll be surprised :) Other hobbies and interests include sports, guitar, Latin dance and films. Oh, let's not forget good food and wine...and champagne, obviously :)
