I am not keen on living in America and if your heart is set on living there permanently, I'm not the man for you. I hope to setup a homestead this year in Paraguay. Born and reared in the US, I've spent most of my adult life living and working in the Far East and in the Middle East. I've worked in English as a Second Language or English as a Foreign Language most of that time, though not always as a teacher, and included establishing and running a language school in Vietnam for a year. I've lived in both developing and developed countries and learned to adapt to electricity frequently going out or the water not working for a day or two; dealing with bureaucracy with systems and simple things maybe taking a week or more; living day to day hardly understanding a word said around me. I came to appreciate what are 1st world problems and became more appreciative of what I have and also became more patient and accepting of things around me. To the best of my abilities and situation, I generally would connect with locals rather than other expatriots, but not perfect. My free time would be occupied by different things, depending on the opportunities availed to me where I was living and what my responsibilities were at that time. While living in Nha Trang, Vietnam for about 14 months, I had hosted nearly 50 different couchsurfers, pre Coronavirus. I enjoyed showing them some aspects of the city and getting to know about their lives and points of view. I also did couchsurfing, staying with individuals or couples in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and sometimes on the occasional trip in America, when going to where there was neither family nor friends. My Mandarin is upper-beginner, I can communicate effectively, if limitedly. For German, I have lower-intermediate passive ability, but cannot speak. I will earnestly attempt to learn her native language to a functional level and of course the local language of where we live, as needed.

Hello. First, thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I am a Filipino-American residing in the San Francisco Bay region, California. Unfortunately, I do not speak the dialect (Tagalog). However, I do speak a little Ilocano. Although I have lived here in the United States the majority of my life, I still have traditional Filipino values intertwined with the American culture. Political Affiliation: Registered Democrat. However, I have in the past voted Republican. It all depends on the candidate. Profession: Mech. Design Engineering consultant @Northrop Grumman Aerospace and Defense. I am also a consultant for a defense contractor R&D military drones- Dept. of Defense (DoD).... currently undecided whether to accept a Design Eng. Mgmt position with a Medical Device Robotics Firm. Education: B.S., Mech Engineering (emphasis- robotics) - University of California, Berkeley Character (based on my inner circle of friends): Religious, intellectual, very knowledgeable on current events (domestic/Intl), voracious reader, positive attitude, open-minded, compassionate, resourceful, ambitious, family-oriented, adventurous, supportive, patient, generous, athletic/competitive, gracious, down-to-earth, respectful, charming, funny/witty, very sociable, handyman-problem solver, polite, articulate, and, yes, very romantic person. Appearance/Physique: Military hairstyle. Muscular, but lean and trim- I am a Triathlete. Attire: depends on the weather and/or occasion. I usually wear jeans for the most part to work and at home. Favorite Food(s): Filipino (of course), Sushi, Korean. However, I'll eat anything served as long as it DOES NOT move or have GARLIC... lol. Social: I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life: old/young, rich/poor, educated/not educated, etc. We can learn a lot from the rich diversity of people we cross paths in our daily lives. Transportation: 2018 Audi Q5 / 2014 Mercedes SL63 AMG convertible, (Road/Mt bikes...) Residence: New housing development Music: My interest is quite diverse from oldies to current (40's to Indie)- To name a few artists: U2, George Benson, Surfaces, Medium Build, Gus Dapperton, Post Malone, Kina Grannis, Mana, etc. I DO NOT like listening to Hard Metal or Opera. Philanthropy: I'm currently sponsoring a Filipino child through Compassion International. Life's reward is helping those in need, especially children. It is priceless and cannot be quantified. I have compassion for those who are less fortunate. I give an annual donation to homeless and abused shelters for women and children. What better way to share the fruits of my labor than by helping those less fortunate? I can't fix the world, but I can at least contribute to making it a better place to live in for those I have touched. Interest: I will just say I have a very active lifestyle and diverse interests from the Arts to doing competitive sports. However, I will say I am currently taking flying lessons to earn my private pilot's license. Romance: SPONTANEOUS- i.e. couple of nights at a coastal retreat taking a moon-lit night walk on the beach, lavish hotel room over-looking the skyline, dinner at a cozy restaurant or have a candle-lit dinner prepared by me- Yes, I cook....lol, two airline tickets or a chartered plane to a surprise destination for a weekend getaway, dozen or more of your favorite flowers w/ a box of your favorite sweets delivered to you when you least expect it. I like to be spontaneous when it comes to romance as you can see. I would NOT like our relationship to be predictable or mundane. There are two rules I live by: 1) "Treat others with respect, as you like to be treated" 2) "Carpe Diem" (Seize the Day) Personal Quote: "I cannot give you everything this world has to offer, or promise you the moon and stars. But I can give you something that is unconditional - my love, financial security, support, a happy home... The world is our oyster... I will shelter you from the rain, warm you from the cold, bring you sunshine when dark clouds are above, protect you with my embrace, and offer you a smile and a shoulder to cry on when you need it most. I will be there by your side during your happiest of times and in your hour of despair. I will be your rock to stand on and your pillar to lean against when things in life seem to be crashing around you. I will be there, because YOU are the love of my life."
